コアラ会員、カンボジア出身のキープ リネットさんがカンボジアの事を教えてくれました。 カンボジアの時差は日本より２時間遅れです。 日本からカンボジア直行便はなく、シンガポール、タイ、マレーシア、韓国のいづれかの国を経由して７時間かかります。 カンボジアの民族はクメール人（カンボジア人）が９０％でチャム族、ベトナム人、華僑、少数民族１４以上がいます。 言語はクメール語（カンボジア語）です。 こんにちははクメール語で「サウサディー」です。 カンボジアのお正月は１月１日ではなく４月です。
有名なアンコールワットは王様の墓として造られました。 ブローチやTシャツにプリントしてお土産で観光客に売っています。 シルクのショールやバッグはタイのお土産と似ています。 シルバーの壁飾りはお金持ちの家に飾ってあります。 都会で暮している人はお金持ちで贅沢な生活をしていますが、田舎に住んでいる人は森の中にいますので食べ物は少ないです。 地雷がまだ残っていて危ないです。 カンボジア国内には仕事が無いのでタイで仕事をしていますが収入は日本円で１００円位です。 リネットさんのお母さんは政府で働いていて月収は５，０００円位です。
カンボジアの結婚式は華やかです。 花婿は結婚したら花嫁の家に入ります。 子供達は夫の姓を名乗ります。 赤ちゃんが生まれて１ヵ月後お祝いにブレスレットを貰います。 エリナちゃんもつけています。 カンボジアの宝石を使ったブレスレットは若い人に人気があります。 カンボジアの食べ物は米、おかずは焼き魚です。 魚は小さい物で塩つけして焼いて食べます。
治安は良くないです。泥棒が多いです。 ポルポト時代にメコン川の近くの木を切ってベトナムへ持って行った。 その時働いていた人達がそのまま残って住んでいる。 喧嘩が多くうるさいくてベトナム語しか話せない人達は嫌われ者です。 カンボジア内戦時は外国語が禁止だった。 その後、タイとの国境線『チョムロム・カウダー」と言う場所でNGOが手伝い英語の勉強が始まった。 海外移住の準備の為に英語を勉強する人が増えた。
現在は見た目には豊かになったがそれは都会だけ、賄賂も多くはびこっている。 若者にはロシア留学が人気がある。 日本の会社はパナソニック（松下電工）がある。
リネットさんは上手に日本語で発表してくれました。 アジアの地図や国旗を書いて結婚式の写真を貼って皆に見せてくれました。 終わってライチや乾燥バナナのお土産を食べました。 有難うございました。 カンボジアのことが良くわかりました。
Koala member Ms Keep Renet from Cambodia told us about her country. The time difference between Japan and Cambodia is two hours behind. There isn't no-stop flight to Cambodia from Tokyo and it takes 7 hours either of country via Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Korea. Cambodia consists of 90% the Khmers and 10 % of Chams, Vietnamese, Overseas Chinese and 14 minority groups. The language is Khmer and Hello in Khmer is "Sau Sawsady". Cambodian New Year is in April not January 1.
A famous "Angkor Wat" was built for the King's gravestone. The Angkor Wat is the country's prime attraction for visitors and is printed on T-shirt and brooch to sell visitors for their souvenirs. The silk shawls and bags are alike to Thailand goods. The silver wall hangings are displayed in the rich family. People who live in the city have high living, on the contrary, people who live in countryside, stay in the forest and foods are scarce. There are still remain land mine. There is no job in Cambodia so that people do their work in Thailand. Their salary is only 100yen. Rinet san's mother is working for government and get 5,000yen monthly salary.
Cambodian wedding ceremony is showy. A groom lives with bride's family since they got married. Their children are given husband's name. Baby gets own bracelet for a one-month-old anniversary. Erina put it in her wrist. A bracelet in Cambodian original jewel is popular among younger. Cambodian food is rice and a dish is grilled fish, adding a pinch of salt to small fishes and grilled. The public peace is not good. There are a lot of thieves. Vietnamese cut trees near the Mekong river and carried them away to their country when Pol Pot times. Vietnamese labors still stay there. They speak only Vietnamese and have quarrel frequently so that they are hated by Cambodian inhabitant. The foreign language was a prohibition at the Cambodian civil war. After the war, people started to learn English which was assisted by NGO group at "Chomuramu Kauda" the border with Thailand. The number of people who study English for the preparation for the emigration has increased. At the present, Cambodia seems to become rich but it is only the city and the bribe is spreading in. The Russia going abroad to study is popular among the younger. There is Japanese company Panasonic.
Rinet san has done an excellent presentation in Japanese. She drew Cambodian map, national flag and show us her wedding picture. After meeting,we had fried banana and canned food of litchi. Thank you very much. We understood about your country.
