６月５日絵本の読み聞かせの報告（Reading picture book for children）

 いつも子供達に読んであげている絵本を持って来てもらいました。　

ママの番になるとジッとママの顔を見て誇らしげでした。ママ達も感情をこめて読み聞かせ、身体をゆらゆらさせると子供達も真似しました。

The veil was written by my American friend Suzanne.  The story is the veil which her aunt gave girl it and give her various imagination.

５月２２日平和公園ピクニックの報告（Picnic to Heiwa Park)

 前日まで雨予報だったので心配していましたが晴れました。　平和館に１１時に集合して公園に移動しました。　大きな樹の下で風が気持ちいいです。　４組の親子が参加しました。　

まず梅ジュースで乾杯しました。　風船やシャボン玉で遊びました。　お弁当を食べながら色んな事を話しました。

　最後にコアラ卒業生が遊びに来て下さいました。　幼稚園の話しなど参考になるお話が聞けたようでした。

I was worried because it was forecast to rain until the day before, but it was sunny.  We got together at 11:00am at Heiwa kan and moved.  Feel the breeze under the big tree.  Participants were four moms and babies.  First, we toasted with plum juice.  We played with balloon and a soap bubble. We talked about various things while eating lunch.  Last, Koala graduate came to see us.  It seems that they were about to hear some useful information such as stories about kindergartens.

５月８日子供の日のイベント：かぶと、鯉のぼり＆海外の子供の日（Event for Children’s Day: make helmet, carp streamer & children's day in abroad)

 まず初めに「５分間言語コーナー」はNさんが担当されました。　

マレー語で横・前・後を歌いながら踊る。

マレー語はローマ字読みなので発音が簡単らしいです。

赤ちゃんを抱いたまま、お尻を横・前・後に振りながら踊りました。

子供の日のイベント担当はSさんでした。日本での子供の日の祝い方を説明して下さいました。　鯉のぼり🎏やかぶとを飾ります。

　菖蒲は邪気を払う意味でお風呂に入れます。　端午の節句は中国から日本に伝えられました。

鯉のぼりは江戸時代から始まり、竜が空を飛んで行くイメージ。

新聞紙でかぶとを作りました。　

鯉のぼりの鱗は子供達の手形・足型で作りました。とても可愛い鯉のぼりが出来上がりました。皆で「こいのぼりの歌」を歌いましょう。

海外の子供の日の担当はYさんでした。

First, [5 minutes language corner] was in charge of N san.  Singing and dancing side/front/back in Malay.  Malayan is easy to pronounce because of Romaji notation.  Members danced while shaking their hips while holding the babies.

Children's Day event was in charge of S san.  She explained how to celebrate in Japan.  Decorate carp streamer and helmet.  Iris is added to the bath to ward off evil spirits.  The Iris Festival was introduced by China.  The carp streamer started in Edo era imaging of dragon flying the sky. 

We made Helmet in Newspaper.  The carp's scales were printed by children's hands and foot by inking the hand and foot then pressing it on paper.  These are so cute carp streamer!  Let's sing a song [koinobori] together.

Children’s Day in foreign countries was in charge of Y san.

4月17日 イースターイベントの報告

今回のメインイベントはイースターです。
イースターがどんな行事かを知りたいというコアラ会員の声からイースターイベントをすることにしました。

イースターの前に、今回から取り入れた日本語以外の言語に触れるミニコーナーからのスタートです。

今回の担当はYさん。ベンガル語の挨拶、「こんにちは」「ごきげんいかがですか」などを教えてくださいました。

This time, our main event is Easter.
We decided to hold an Easter-themed event after some of our Koala members expressed interest in learning more about what Easter is all about.

Before diving into Easter, we started with a new mini segment where we introduce languages other than Japanese.

This time, Y-san was in charge. She introduced some basic greetings in Bengali, such as “Hello” and “How are you?”

また、ベンガル語がどの地域で使われているか、世界で多く使われている言語ランキングではベンガル語は6位などという知識も交えて話してくださいました。大人が夢中になって聞いていました。Yさん、ありがとうございました。

She also shared that Bengali is spoken in certain regions and mentioned that it ranks as the 6th most spoken language in the world. The adults were especially captivated by her talk.

さて、イースターイベントに入ります。

イースターの導入として、イギリス出身のMさんが子ども向けのイースターの絵本を英語で読み聞かせてくださいました。

Now, we moved on to the main Easter event.
To introduce Easter, M-san from the UK read an English picture book about Easter to the children.

その後、エッグハンティングと題してプラスティックケースのたまごに入ったお菓子を大人が隠します。参加者にベビーが多く、ママと一緒に探し、手にたまごを持って見つめている様子がとても可愛かったです。

Next, we held an "Egg Hunt," where adults hid plastic eggs filled with sweets.
Many of the participants were babies, and it was adorable to see them searching with their moms and gazing at the eggs they found in their tiny hands.

一歳後半になるとヒントをもらいながら、積極的に探しに行く姿が見られました。たまごを見つけて大喜び。見つけたたまごを抱え、中身のお菓子を嬉しそうに食べていました。

ちなみにお菓子はたまごボーロとラムネでした。

その後、各自持参したゆで卵にペンでペイントをしました。それぞれの素敵な卵になりました。

Children around 18 months old began to actively search for the eggs with a little help, and their excitement when they found one was priceless. They held their eggs tightly and happily enjoyed the treats inside.

The sweets were baby-friendly egg biscuits and ramune candies.

After the egg hunt, everyone decorated their own boiled eggs using pens they had brought. Each egg turned into a unique and lovely creation.

楽しいイベントになりました。

４月６日オリエンテーションの報告（Orientation)

　オリエンテーションの予定でしたが、新規入会者はおられませんでした。

　幼稚園、学校が休みなので卒業生の子供達６人が遊びに来てくれました。コアラの子供達はお兄ちゃん、お姉ちゃんと一緒に遊びました。

　卒業生ママも交えて「どうしたらコアラメンバーを増やせるか？」を話し合いました。

There was supposed to be an orientation, but no new members joined. Since school and preschool are spring holiday, six graduates' children came to Koala room. They played together.

We discussed "how can we increase the number of Koala members?" with the graduate moms.

３月２７日ピクニック@中原平和公園の報告（Picnic at the Peace Park)

 １１時に皆で集合し、トイレに行ってから広場に向かいました。　天気も良く、気温も暖かく、ピクニック日和でした。　卒業生も来てくれました。　皆でレジャーシートを敷いて色々お話ししながらお弁当を食べました。

 

　ジャポン玉などで遊びました。　

その後、遊具のある広場に移動し、滑り台などでめいっぱい遊びました。みんなとても楽しそうで、疲れてお昼寝も出来たのではないでしょうか。

Got together at 11:00am and moved to the Peace Park after toilet.  It was a fine day and warm weather.  It was a perfect day for a picnic.  Graduates joined us.  We spread out leisure sheet and talked various topics while we ate Obento.  Children played with soap bubble.  Then, we moved to another place where there is playground equipment. Children had lots of fun playing on the slides and other things.  They looked so happy. Maybe they were tired enough to take a nap?

３月６日お別れ会・卒業式の報告（Send-off party/ Graduation ceremony)

 毎年、一品持ち寄りパーティで卒業生を送り出していましたが今年は１２時までしかお部屋が使えませんのでポットラックパーティはありませんでした。　残念でした。

卒業生は幼稚園、保育園入園者と引っ越しされる方です。　今年は１０名の子供達がコアラを卒業します。　子供達には金メダルとプレゼントを用意しました。

コアラに入会された順番です。　好きな色の金メダルとプレゼントを選んで下さい。

１，Kちゃん　３歳　お野菜が大好き。弟の面倒も良く見てくれる。こだわりがある。

２，Hくん　　１歳　沢山の人に抱っこしてもらったね。お姉ちゃんの真似が好き。

３，Aくん　　３歳　いたずらも相手の顔を見て。自己主張、好き嫌いがはっきり。

４、Iくん　　２歳　よく眠る。背丈が２ｍになりそう。スポーツ選手になるかな？

５、Kくん　　３歳　A君と仲良し喧嘩仲間。日本語だけを話す君を見てみたい。

６、Cちゃん　２歳　赤ちゃんの時から笑顔が絶えない。アメリカ行き祖父母に会う。

７，Rちゃん　３歳　おしゃべり上手。周りの大人に可愛がられている証拠ね。

８，Aちゃん　１歳　壊れてしまった金メダルをずーと放さなかったね。嬉しいよ。

９，Kちゃん　３歳　（欠席）長い間参加されていますがもう３歳ですか。

１０、Sくん　１歳　(欠席）赤ちゃんが生まれた事だけ報告を受けていました。

コアラ卒業生から差し入れや寄付がありました。　頂いた台湾のお菓子やバナナを皆で頂きました。　ありがとうございました。

卒業生がコアラの事を大切に思って見守って下さっている事を知り、大いに励まされています。

２８年間続けていてよかった❣と思いました。

We used to have potluck party every year.  Unfortunately, we can rent the room until 12:00.

Graduates include those entering kindergarten or nursery school and those who are moving.  This year, ten children graduate from Koala.  

I prepared ten gold medals and various kind of presents for them.

２月１３日バレンタインの報告（Valentine）

 一番の強風と寒さで参加者が少ないです。　バレンタインの係はTさんでした。

１、絵本の読み聞かせ：　ノンタンおやすみなさい

２、わらべ歌：　Ｔさんは昔の手遊び歌を調べて下さいました。　「ずいずいずっころばし」や「せっせっせの」は日本と韓国の遊びと同じでした。　皆で輪になってずいずいずっころばしの遊びをしました。

３、折り紙：　折り紙でハートの形を作りました。　ハートのシールを貼ってパパにあげましょう！

４，お菓子をたべましょう。

There were few participants due to the strong winds and cold weather.  T san was in charge of today's event "Valentine"

1, Reading picture book: Nontan

2, Children's song:  She looked up old hand play songs. "Zui zui zukorobashi = zoo clovers go m-y so zoo.  Who did it? squeak. and "Seltusenose" were as same as Japanese hand play.  We played old hand play in a circle.

3, Origami: Made shape of heart in Origami.  You put heart stickers on it and give it to your dad.

4, Let's have Valentine sweets!

２月６日韓国ってどんな国？教えてホさん！の報告（What is Korea like? Teach us Ms. Ho.)

 日本のお正月は１月１日ですが、韓国は旧正月で１月２８日から３日間です。家族が集まり司祭・先祖を敬う祭りを行います。　「トック」餅を食べます。　お正月で１歳歳をとります。子供達はお年玉を貰います。　最近、お正月に旅行する人が多くなりました。

お正月の伝統的な子供の遊びは「ツボ投げ」です。　なげ矢・ダーツではなく、子供の遊びなので箸を投げて壺に入れます。　ティッシュのふたを開けると「アンパンマン」や「動物」の絵が在ります。　赤ちゃんの学習機能を高めるためにママ達が手作りします。　リサイクル効果もあります。　イカゲームは昔の韓国が多く出ているので皆で遊びます。　ちょっと残忍な表現があります。　遠足での遊びは「スーゴン」遊び。　日本で言う「ハンカチ落とし」です。

韓国の伝統衣装「チマチョゴリ」はチマはスカートの部分、チョゴリは上着の部分を指します。　最近は伝統衣装は着ません。　レンタルして着ることがあります。　私の結婚式には「ハンポ」韓国服を自分と実母と義母の３人が着ました。　ハンポは１枚布で日本の着物と同じです。　これもレンタルしました。

ホさん、ありがとうございました。韓国の事が良く分かりました。

Japanese New Year is January 1, but Korean New Year is from Jan. 28 to 30th by luna calendar.  Families are getting together holding a festival to honor our ancestors.  We eat rice cake called "Totku" in Korean.  We turn one year old on New Year's Day.  Children get "Otosidama".  Recently, people tended to travel during New Year holiday.

New Year's traditional child play is "Tubonage".  Children throw the chopsticks into the pot.  It is not darts.  When baby opens lid of tissue there are picture of "Anpanman " and "animal".  These are made by their mothers to boost babies learning abilities.  It also has recycling effect.  Squid game has many old Korean customs that has brutal expression.  School excursion is "Sugone" play, as same as Japanese play "Hankachi otosi" that is to drop the handkerchief someone's behind.

Koran traditional costume is called "Ch'ima chogori" that shows ch'ima is skirt and chogori is upper garment.  But we don't wear traditional costume these days.  We may rent it and wear it.  At my wedding ceremony, I and my mother and mother-in-law wore "Kanpo" means Korean dress.  Kanpo has one cloth same as Japanese Kimono.  Those were also rent it.

Thank you for your presentation, Ho san.  We understood what Korea is.

We had sweet and then finished Koala meeting.

１月２３日節分の報告（Setubun ceremony means to drive out devils and attract good fortune)

 担当のYさんとYさんが節分のイベントを考えてきて下さいました。　

先ずはウオーミングアップで「頭、肩、膝 ポン」の手遊び歌をしました。　子供達は目、鼻、口を示すのが間に合わず両手で顔を覆っていました。　そのしぐさが超かわいいね～。

絵本で節分の説明をして下さいました。　１年の始まりに病気にならない様に「鬼は外、福は内」と豆を投げます。　中国や韓国でも節分の豆まきをしますか？　いいえ、豆はまきません。

ダブルYさんが鬼のお面をかぶり、新聞紙で作った鬼の棒を振りかざし、「悪い子はいないか？」と凄みのある声で子供達に襲い掛かりました。　子供達は恐怖で泣くばかり、ボールを投げて退治する余裕はありませんでした。　逃げて隠れていた子供もいましたね。　子供はお面だけ見るから怖いのだろう～と思います。　大人は大笑いでした。　子供の泣き叫ぶ顔もまた可愛い。

豆の代わりに副代表から中国のお土産を頂きました。

Setubun ceremony means to drive out devils and attract good fortune.  Y san and Y san were in charge of this event.

To begin with, two Y san showed us a song using hand-gestures [head, shoulder, knee].  Children covered their faces because they were not enough time to show eye, nose and mouth.  Their gestures were super cute!

Double Y san read picture book about Setubun.  We threw beans saying "Oni wa soto, Fuku wa uti" hoping not to get sick.  How about Chinese and Korean people throw bean?  No, we don't.

They were wearing a demon mask and brandishing a demon stick made of paper.  Attacks the children with a horrifying voice. "Are there any bad kids?"  Children were crying out of fear, and there is no time to throw a ball at them to get rid of them.  Someone escaped and hid from demon.  Children kept watching only mask that why they felt fear.  We adults were laugh loudly.  The crying faces of children were also cute!!

Instead of throwing beans, children were presented candy from vice president, F san.

１月９日新年会の報告（New Year's party)

 　　　　２０２５年　明けましておめでとうございます。

今年も国際子育てひろば「コアラ」をよろしくお願いいたします。

参加者は二組の親子でした。　２８年間で一番参加者の少ない新年会となりました。　お正月飾りをしました。　恒例の自家製梅ジュースで乾杯、子供達も一緒に乾杯しました。　持ち寄った食べ物でランチを済ませました。

                     A Happy New Year!

Thank you for your continued support KOALA this year.

Participants were only two couple of mothers and children.   It was the New Year's party with the fewest participants in 28 years.  I decorated New Year's ornament.  Toast with the traditional homemade plum juice with children.  We finished our lunch with the food we brought in.
